i wonder...

hey jered i was wondering... you know how in the bible it says all children will go to heaven? does that mean ALL children? what if they live in Iraq? Also, i know that when a child knows between right and wrong and can choose between jesus or not, what if they were raised ina  different faith and doesnt know about jesus? ok say a 13 year old in Iraq (who knows between right and wrong and all that) what if he or she dies.. will thwey go to heaven? technically they are not a child but thay never got the choice of jesus get back to me on this K?

Re: i wonder...

Great question, and to be perfectly honest I cannot point to a place in scripture that will say definitively yes they will or no they won't go to heaven.  The idea of an "age of accountability" is a man made concept, the Bible does not speak to that.  It does however say things like, "John the baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit before he was born (Luke 1:15).  In 2 Sam. 12:23 David makes the claim that he will join his infant son after death, and David is described in the Psalms as a strong believer who rested in God for his salvation.

Maybe the most telling thing in my opinion of this topic is in 1 Timothy 2:3-4 where it says, "3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. "  The best as I understand anything about God, I don't believe that He would condemn a child who never heard, or understood anything about a need for a savior to go to Hell.

This particular subject has been the subject of heated debate and discussion for hundreds of years, there are arguements that you could make either way on this thing.  Don't know if that helps one way or the other, but I am still digging on this one and may have more later.

Re: i wonder...

So I didn't know where to post this but I was just thinking about it the other day and I thought it was pretty cool. If you think about our youth and the messages that have been done throughout the years there has been alot of symbols. Like the earliest one I can remember is one that was done with skittles there was a line of people and the first person puts some clean water in their mouth and then pretended to tell the next person a secret and so on until the last person spit out some nasty water from where they held water and skittles in their mouth the whole time it was to reprisent gossip. So now everytime I see skittles I think about that... Then everytime I see a rose I think of Jonathens purity thing where he tore the pettles off.. Then Whenever it rains I think about Jereds sermon about the dried mud..... Then everytime I watch Braveheart or 300 I think of wills sermon.... Then everytime I see a cinnimen (Spelling???) role I wanna cry cause I think about what Pho did... and there are so many more like when I think about ducktape and Dacia's heart...... I just think its amazing all the things that everyone has worked into being amazing!!! Just thought I would let ya'll know.....
